Grays Harbor Ports

Grays Harbor Ports

The Grays Harbor Ports were a minor league baseball team that played in the 1976 Northwest League. The team's record was 26-46, the worst in the league. The club represented Hoquiam, Washington and Aberdeen, Washington.

They were an independent club and were managed by Carl W. Thompson, Sr.. Attendance was 28,842, 4th in the 7-team Northwest League. Barry Biggerstaff (9-7, 3.44) made the league All-Star team and led the Northwest League in almost every counting category - 17 starts, 15 complete games, 3 shutouts (tied for the lead), innings (144), hits (138), runs (77), earned runs (55) and strikeouts (123). He was one off of the lead in wins and two behind the league leader in losses.

In 1977 they became the Grays Harbor Loggers. In 1979 they became the Grays Harbor Mets, returning to the name Gray Harbor Loggers for 1980 and 1981. The club appears to have folded after the 1981 season.
