Sheldon Independent School District

Sheldon Independent School District is a public school district in unincorporated eastern Harris County, Texas (USA) which is part of Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area.

The district serves the communities of Sheldon, Beaumont Place, and Houmont Park.

Schools

Sheldon Independent School District consists of a high school, middle school, four elementary schools, and an early childhood center; a second middle school is under construction. The former 6th grade campus is undergoing renovation to open as Sheldon Elementary in the fall of 2009; the present Sheldon Elementary will change to a second early childhood academy at that time. All schools are located in unincorporated areas.

High school

* C. E. King High School (9-12) [http://khs.sheldonisd.com/] Named after Cortes Ewing King, a Houston developer who donated land to the district. Built 1965.

Middle school

* M.R. Null Middle School (6-8)- Under construction with fall 2009 opening. Named after former Sheldon administrator and resident Michael Null who most recently served the district as interim principal at C.E. King.

*H.M. Carroll Elementary School - grades: 1-5Named for late board member. Under construction; scheduled to open in 2008.
