Flavius Valila Theodosius or Theodobius (d. before 483) was a Roman senator and military commander who held the office of "
magister militium " in the west in 471. Valila, who was Gothic origin, endowed aChristian church on his property nearTibur . [CIL VI.32169, 32221] At his death, he bequeathed the 4th centurybasilica ofIunius Annius Bassus (consul of 331) on theEsquiline Hill inRome to the Church, [Christie; Lee.] andPope Simplicius dedicated it to St. Andrew, which later came to be known asSant'Andrea Cata Barbara Patricia .
