Ellis Cannon

Ellis G. Cannon is an American talk show host.

He was born on March 28, 1959 and was raised in Midland, Pennsylvania, and graduated with honors from the University of Pittsburgh in 1981.

Ellis received his legal degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1984, and became a lawyer at the Pittsburgh law firm of Robb Leonard Mulvihill up until 1996, highlighted by a successful representation of the Major League Baseball Players’ Alumni Association.

In 1996, Ellis and his brother, Henry, co-founded the "Pittsburgh Sports Report", a monthly publication covering all Western Pennsylvania sports, and Cannon remains the publisher as of June 2006, in addition to publishing "KidSPORTS Magazine", as president and publisher of Pittsburgh Sports Report, Inc.

In 1998, Ellis and Henry co-hosted "The Cannon Brothers", a sports talk show on Pittsburgh's ESPN Radio 1250. Ellis eventually became the lone host of the show, which became "The Pittsburgh Sports Report with Ellis Cannon". The show quickly became the Pittsburgh market's #1 rated weekend talk show.

Then, in January 2004, Cannon was hired by WPGB (FM 104.7) of Clear Channel in Pittsburgh to host "Ellis Cannon’s Sportsline Pittsburgh", weekdays from 6 PM EDT to 8 PM EDT, and won an "A.I.R. Award" for “Best Evening Show on a Sports, Talk or Personality Station”. Cannon has hosted pre-game, in-game, and post-game coverage for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Football Network since 2004.

In addition, Cannon appears on the KDKA Sports Showdown, a weekly Pittsburgh-based sports talk show airing at 11:35 Sunday nights on KDKA-TV Pittsburgh, and contributes as an analyst on Fox News Channel and Court TV for topical sports and law issues.

Ellis married his wife Yvonne in 1985, and the couple has three sons.
