Jamie Charman (born 16 July 1982) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League.

Overview

He was recruited as the number 29 draft pick in the 2000 AFL Draft from Northern Eagles in Queensland. He made his debut for the Brisbane Lions in Round 5, 2001 against Fremantle. The 197cm, 102 kg , Jamie Charman became renowned for his crash and bash approach to ruckwork, similar to that of former teammate Clark Keating (currently Brisbane Lions ruck coach).Not only that he is also known for his tough tackling and his tough approach to opposition players.Some of the examples are in 2006, he was controversially suspended for 1 match for unduly rough play on Collingwood's Anthony Rocca. In 2008, he was reported for knocking down Sydney Swan's Brett Kirk but escaped punishment from the AFL. Jamie Charman is considered to be one of the best ruckman in AFL, but many australian football fans considers him to be the roughest ruckman in AFL.
