- European LC Championships 1991
The European LC Championships 1991 were held in Athens, Greece from August 18 to 25. The competition, organised by the LEN, was held in the Olympic Aquatic Centre, which also hosted the swimming competition during the 2004 Summer Olympics.
Besides swimming there were titles contested in diving, synchronized swimming (women) and water polo. The open water swimming competition was held in Terracina, Italy from September 14 to September 15.
Shining star at the swimming championships was Hungary's Krisztina Egerszegi, who broke two world records, in the 100 m and 200 m backstroke, and also won the 400 m individual medley.
