Fictional animated character biography

Herbert Landon was a former friend of Hank McCoy. He first appeared in season two, as a scientist working for the Brand Corporation, but secretly working for the Kingpin. He despised mutants and had developed a chemical that would destroy them, while he pretended to be making a mutant army for the Kingpin and lied to the public he was working on a mutant cure. When the Hobgoblin attempted to steal Landon's formula, a fight ensued in which Landon was doused in his own chemicals, turning him into a 30 ft mutant, needing to feed on electrical energy to survive. Luckily, the X-Men and Spider-Man were able to reverse the procedeure, but the accident left Landon with a permanent mutated half-face. After that, he joined forces with Spider-Man's arch foe, the Kingpin, and served as his key scientist.

Following this, Landon was portrayed as half-human and half-reptilian (his mutant form), and Kingpin's sidekick. He used his knowledge of bio-engineering to transform Alistair Smythe into the Ultimate Spider-Slayer and replacement partner to the Kingpin, taking Alistair Smythe's spot.He also reacreates the super soldier formula in order to turn Felicia Hardy into the Black Cat. In "", at the end of the episode, Landon is seen in the hospital right after Morbius drains his plasma. Landon makes a cameo appearance in the following episode, wherein he was hypnotized by Mirium into stealing the Neogenic Recombinator from Kingpin. He was later seen fully recovered in the fifth season premiere and last appeared in the five-part episode saga that followed the fifth season premiere.

Herbert Landon did not possess any superhuman powers (Except in his original monstrous mutant form), but was a brilliant scientist, and an expert in genetics.

Fictional comics character biography

Herbert Landon was an up and coming genetics researcher at the original Brand Corporation, a friend of Hank McCoy. After McCoy vanished, Landon became convinced the Beast killed him. As time passed, Landon worked more and more on research to create super-powers. His work earned him enough money that after Brand closed her purchased the name and opened a new Brand Corporation with himself as CEO. At an underground lab near LaGuardia, Landon and scientist Everett Burgos developed a genetic bath to remove a mutant's powers.

At their Brand Pavilion, Landon hosted a mutation pavilion, announcing that Brand could merge human and non-human DNA, allowing them to mutate others at will. Hobgoblin attacked the conference, and the Beast and Spider-Man came to its defense. Both were captured by Brand personnel and Landon had them taken to LaGuardia for study. Hobgoblin intervened, and Landon inadvertently fell into the bath, mutating into a rock monster form. He was captured and taken into custody; the ability to cure him was uncertain.
