Ann Mulvale is the former mayor of Oakville, Ontario. She served from 1988 until 2006. Mulvale was first elected mayor in 1988, defeating incumbent Bill Perras, after making an unsuccessful bid for the job against him in 1985. Mulvale narrowly won the 2003 Oakville election by 28 votes over challenger Rob Burton. Despite the fact that she is notoriously connected with developers, during her years as mayor Oakville expanded significantly beyond the capacity of its own infrastructure. Many current residents attribute this rapid uncontrolled growth to Mulvale and her developer friendly leadership of Oakville. She was defeated by Rob Burton in the 2006 municipal election.

Prior to 1985, she served two terms as a councillor.

Mulvale was also an unsuccessful Progressive Conservative candidate in the 1993 federal election in Oakville—Milton.

Born in England, Mulvale moved to Oakville in 1972. She is a past president of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario and has served on the Central Ontario Smart Growth Panel.
