Bernie Clifton

Bernie Clifton

Bernie Clifton (born in St Helens, England) is a British comedian and entertainer, who appeared on the BBC television series "Crackerjack" with Michael Aspel, Peter Glaze, Don Maclean and Jan Hunt in the 1970s.

He is most famous for "riding" a puppet ostrich called Oswald; although he occasionally appeared in the dustbin of a similar "binman" puppet.

Though largely missing from the televisions screens these days, Clifton makes occasional appearances playing himself such as in the BBC's "Love Soup".

Mr Clifton lives in the same North Derbyshire village as Wheaty.

Clifton is also the presenter of the Saturday morning programme on BBC Radio Sheffield where he publicly airs his hatred for Keith Harris.
