Viper is a wooden roller coaster located at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, which opened in 1995. Viper features a layout patterned after the classic Coney Island Cyclone and is the only roller coaster ever to be built directly by Six Flags.Fact|date=November 2007
Overview
Throughout the years, Viper's queue has undergone numerous modifications to accommodate additions such as Raging Bull and the entrance to the adjacent Hurricane Harbor water park. During Fright Fest, Viper is known as "Viper: Snakes on a Train" in a spoof of the 2006 movie "Snakes on a Plane". Opinions on the ride are different but it is still considered one of the best rides in the park.
