Club career
As a player he played mostly for
Austria Wien , but in 1938 he moved toGrasshopper Club inSwitzerland because he did not want to be divorced from his Jewish wife, which he was ordered to by the Nazi-authorities. He only returned toVienna after the war.Nausch was chosen in Austria's Team of the Century in 2001.
International career
He made his debut for Austria in October 1929 against Switzerland but missed out on the
1934 FIFA World Cup . He earned 39 caps, scoring one goal.Coaching career
He worked later as a football coach and coached for example Austria national team (1948-1954), which he led at the
1954 FIFA World Cup , where Austria won the bronze medal.Death
Naush died of a heart attack in summer 1957, after he was outraged about Austria losing to Kremser SC.
