List of American Ryder Cup golfers

List of American Ryder Cup golfers

This is a list of all the American golfers who have played in the Ryder Cup through 2008. The three players who have done so most often are Billy Casper, Raymond Floyd and Lanny Wadkins with eight appearances each. This compares with Nick Faldo's European record of eleven appearances. While Faldo is a serious candidate for the status of Europe's greatest ever golfer, none of the three American co-record holders are candidates for the position of America's greatest golfer. The lower American record, and the names of the men that share it, reflect the fact that before the Ryder Cup became competitive in the 1980s, the leading Americans didn't always play.
