roller coaster located atIdlewild and Soak Zone nearLigonier, Pennsylvania . It was built in 1938 by the leading roller coaster builder of that era, thePhiladelphia Toboggan Company . It was Idlewild's first and only roller coaster for decades until the larger Wild Mouse coaster was erected in 1993.Built over the hillside at Idlewild Park, Rollo Coaster goes up a small lift hill and goes down some dips, including a small
double dip and then around a swoopingcurve and over several more dips before returning to the station. This ride features two trains, with up to twelve riders per train, and is located next to the Merry Go Round and Flying Aces atIdlewild Park . It is the only wooden coaster at Idlewild. While the Rollo Coaster features only small hills, it uses topography to its advantage. Built over steep terrain, the ride features many tight twists and turns which create a surprisingly rough ride and a sense of much greater speed.
It is an ACE Coaster Classic. [ [http://www.aceonline.org/CoasterAwards/?type=1 ACE Coaster Classic Awards] ]
