Europhiles

Europhiles of Calcedonia lived during the 3rd century BC. He contributed enormously to the study of anatomy with his many discoveries of the human body. He gave a detailed description of the nervous system and the connections between the liver and the small intestine; he also coined the word duodenum and established that it is connected to the liver through large veins.
