Nightingale-Conant

Nightingale-Conant is one of the world’s largest producers and publishers of personal development and self-help audio programs, and was one of the driving forces behind the massive mainstream expansion of the self-improvement industry in the mid-20th century.

The Nightingale-Conant Corporation was founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1960 by broadcaster Earl Nightingale and businessman Lloyd Conant. Their shared mission was to bring people the tools and information they needed to create successful, fulfilled lives. Their chosen medium was audio recordings, which they considered the most convenient and effective learning format available.

The company’s first published recording, a message by Earl Nightingale entitled "The Strangest Secret", eventually went on to sell more than a million copies, making it the first spoken-word recording to achieve Gold Record status. To this day, it is one of the company’s most popular and well-known offerings.

A long list of best-selling audio titles followed the success of "The Strangest Secret", including Earl Nightingale’s classic full-length program, "Lead the Field", Denis Waitley’s groundbreaking recording "The Psychology of Winning" and the original audio version of Napoleon Hill’s famed treatise, "Think and Grow Rich". Many world-renowned personal development figures, including Anthony Robbins, Tom Peters, Dr. Deepak Chopra, and Dr. Wayne Dyer have been Nightingale-Conant authors since the early days of their fame.

Today, Nightingale-Conant continues to publish programs by self-help teachers, including Brian Tracy, Paul McKenna, Zig Ziglar, Dr. Mark Hyman, Sylvia Browne and Marianne Williamson. The company’s audio programs and services address a wide range of personal, professional, and spiritual development topics, including wealth building, debt reduction, sales skill training, health and wellness, meditation, and much more.
