Mæla is a village in Rana municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the end of the fjord Sjona, a few kilometres north of Utskarpen.
The district surrounding the inner part of Sjona previously belonged to Nesna municipality. On 1 January 1964 this particular district, which had 543 inhabitants at the time, was merged with Mo i Rana, Nord-Rana and a part of Sør-Rana to create the new municipality Rana.
