Reid Jamieson

Reid Jamieson is a Canadian singer songwriter born October 20, 1973 in Toronto, Ontario.

He has released 4 albums and the most recent original one being 2004's "The Unavoidable Truth", distributed by Universal Music Canada. Produced by Josh Finlayson, "The Unavoidable Truth" features guest appearances from Sarah Harmer, Mia Sheard, Peter Elkas, John Southworth and Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo, Wilco) . The album showcases his choirboy ways, therapeutic lyrics and country-flavoured pop hooks.

In 2006 Reid became the newest member of the CBC's "The Vinyl Cafe Orchestra". Reid moved from Toronto to Vancouver Island (Victoria BC), then to Vancouver BC to write for his next album.

In August 2007 Reid Jamieson released a 50s era tribute to the late Elvis Presley named 'The Presley Sessions'. This album was originally titled 'For the Colonel, with Love' as it was recorded as a birthday present for his long-ime sweetheart and manager Carolyn V. Mill - affectionately nicknamed 'the Colonel' after Presley's rambunctious and opportunistic manager Colonel Tom Parker.

Reid has been described as somewhere between Neil Young and Paul Young. Comparisons have also been made to Jeff Buckley, Glenn Tilbrook, Ron Sexsmith and Damien Rice.

Reid is a vegetarian who doesn't eat meat or dairy products, and is currently writing a vegetarian cookbook.

He lost his mother, Brenda Jamieson (nee Bridge) to ovarian cancer at the age of 15, she was only 35.

He has a great uncle who also performs; Howie James his fathers uncle who changed his name for show business reasons. Reid recently produced a record for Howie in Nanaimo BC called Don't Be Ashamed.
