Field Marshal Prince Zaid Ibn Shaker (1934 -30 August ,2002 ) ( _ar. الأمير زيد بن شاكر) served as commander in chief of the Jordanian Military for more than twelve years andPrime Minister of Jordan three times.Field Marshal General of the Army Sharif Zaid ibn Shakir, a cousin of the king, had been commander in chief for more than twelve years until relieved of his duty in 1988. Zaid ibn Shakir's family had always been close to the Royal family, and Zaid ibn Shakir himself had been personally linked with
King Hussein throughout his military career. In addition to his high palace position, he also filled a newly created post of adviser to the king on national security. The new position implied that Shakir would retain considerable influence over military policies. Later he was appointed Prime Minister three times:*

Prince but not as ahereditary title ; his sonShaker ibn Zaid still holds the title Sharif.
