Tovmas Nazarbekian (Nazarbekov), (1855–1931), was an Armenian general in the
Russian Army who was the governor of theAdministration for Western Armenia . He was born and died inTbilisi .Military achievements

Born to a wealthy Russianized family, he attended military academy in Moscow. After fighting in the
Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 and theRusso-Japanese War of 1904-1905, he resigned his commission, but was appointed as a general in 1914 to fight in theCaucasus .He was arrested with other Armenian officers in January 1921, but released four months later.
