Kenny Young and the Eggplants is a
comedy musical trio fromBrooklyn in New York City. The members of the band are Kenny Young (acoustic guitar and vocals), Eddie Logue (percussion) and Gil Shuster (bass).The band's logo is a cartoon smiling eggplant.
They have released three albums on
Coney Island Records : "Even One Is Quite A Few" (1996), "Toxic Swamp And Other Love Songs" (1998) and "The Search For Eggplantis" (2002).The band has achieved more success in Britain than in its home country and have played at the
Edinburgh Fringe since 1991.The band have released their fourth album on
Cheese thing Records : "Arrr!" (2007)The Eggplants at the Edinburgh Fringe '07
After a gap of several years, the Eggplants returned to the Fringe festival in 2007. The venue was the back room of the Acoustic Music Centre(sic) at St Brides.
For their performances at the 2007 Fringe, the band was awarded a Herald Angel award by the Herald newspaper.
The Herald and Scotsman both gave the Eggplants four-star reviews.
