Zulfugar Baghirov

Zulfugar Baghirov comes from a long line of Azerbaijani musicians, the most prominent being his grandfather, composer Gara Garayev (1918-1982). Zulfugar's father, Elshad Baghirov is currently the conductor of the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra. Zulfugar Baghirov was born in 1973, in Baku, Azerbaijan and currently resides in Washington DC. He studied at the Istanbul State University Conservatory and the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Zulfugar Baghirov has recorded several jazz CDs and appeared on many others as a supporting musician.
