Carlos Eugênio Simon (born
3 September 1965 ) is aFIFA football referee fromBrazil , and he is also ajournalist and a formertrade unionist . Simon has been a referee since1998 and his first international game was between Ecuador and Peru. He was a referee in the2002 FIFA World Cup and2006 FIFA World Cup . He's been the top Brazilian referee for several years, and he is expected to head to a record third World Cup in a row in 2010.During the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Carlos Simon officiated at three matches.
