- Karak, Pahang
Karak is a big town in
Pahang ,Malaysia . It is known as rest town "(Bandar Persinggahan)" of Federal route JKR|2 fromKuala Lumpur toKuantan . It also gives its name to the famousKarak Highway , which links it toKuala Lumpur .An actor,Daniel Razlan is living here.Karak is also the main town within the
Sabai state constituency ofPahang , with a total of 10,000 registered voters. It is the only seat held by theMalaysian Indian Congress in the state. With its location at the foothills of
Malaysia ’s main mountain range, theTitiwangsa Mountain Range , this town is an important water catchment area not just forPahang but for theKlang Valley as well. The Government has plans to build a massive RM2bil pipeline linking the
Pahang River area toSelangor and theKlang Valley . Part of the pipeline will pass through Karak.Ironically, however, the main complaint in this town is the constantly disrupted water supply. Much of the problem stems from an aged water treatment plant, which has been in service for over 30 years and thus is inadequate even for a town the size of Karak.
