Deleteme

Deleteme is the value of a keyword (commonly referred to as a tag, see folksonomy) that can be used to indicate that an information resource is no longer active and should be deleted. This is of particular use to both Atom and RSS feeds where it is often necessary to embed tags inside the content, the idea of this tag is thus to inform any feed aggregators that this item is no longer alive and should be deleted from any aggregated databases.

On the photo sharing website Flickr, DeleteMe is the name of a group to which users submit photos for criticism and to be voted on [http://flickr.com/groups/deleteme/] . Pictures which receive 10 'saveme' votes before receiving 10 'deleteme' votes are moved to another group [http://www.flickr.com/groups/stockr/] to keep. The group was so popular it spawned several groups which use the same voting method.
