About Dixie Landin'
Dixie Landin' was built in 1999. Some of its rides came from the now defunct Family Fun Fair Park which was located on Airline Highway. Dixie Landin' includes rides for all ages, including kiddie rides and thrill seeker rides. Dixie Landin' currently has 27 attractions, including an S&S combo drop tower, a log flume, four roller coasters and a variety of flat rides. The Drop Tower, Hot Shot was originally O2 Tower from the now defunct Miracle Strip Amusement Park. In 2008, Hurricane Gustav destroyed the Coca-Cola concert stage, however, a new stage was built in time for the 2009 season. In the next 4 or 5 years the Army Corps of Engineers will help expand the theme park to make room for additional rides and a campground.

Future Expansion Of Dixie Landin'
Dixie Landin' has plans of expanding. They plan to add a campground, a new roller coaster, and more flat rides. They filed with the U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers. As of September 2011, there has been no news on the future expansion.
Hurricane Gustav
Hurricane Gustav caused major damage to the amusement park. Many trees were snapped/uprooted. The Coca-Cola stage was destroyed. The awnings were blown off the "proslide tornado." A part of the Pirate's Cove roof was blown off and blown a long distance, It landed on a fence a few yards away causing it to fall down. An outbuilding was flipped over and completely obliterated causing debris to be scattered everywhere. Light poles were blown down. The roof of the Musik Express was torn off. Benches were tossed around. Metal roofs from other buildings were torn off and scattered around the amusement park. Windows were also blown out of some buildings. Luckily, when the storm hit, Blue Bayou and Dixie Landin' were at their closing point for the year. The damages were still horrible but they were replaceable things that were up and fixed for the next upcoming summer.
