Steve Pavlovic

Steve Pavlovic (b.1967) is an Australian music promoter who founded and runs the successful international record label Modular Recordings. Widely known as "Pav", some of his pre-Modular history was documented in The Sell-in [cite book

isbn = 1865084123 ] , a book about the Australian independent music industry. Known for taking big risks, Pav originally scored some success through an association with Seattle's grunge scene. Tours with Mudhoney and Nirvana, who were on tour in Australia when "Nevermind" went #1 on the US Billboard 200 chart in 1992, helped to make a name for Pavlovic. That success and subsequent financial problems acted as a prelude to the establishment of Modular.

Having signed some of Australia's successful musical exports, including Ben Lee, Wolfmother and The Avalanches, Pavolic has a reputation as an industry taste-maker and a shrewd operator.
