Veliče Šumulikoski ( _mk. Величе Шумуликоски) (born April 24, 1981 in Struga, Socialist Republic of Macedonia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Macedonian football midfielder who currently plays for Ipswich Town and the FYR Macedonia. He has been hailed as Macedonia's answer to Steven Gerrard or is simply known as "the Balkan Gerrard" by the English media and some fans. [cite web | author=Yahoo! Šumulikoski made his debut for the FYR Macedonia national team in 2002 and has been an integral part of the set-up ever since. The Macedonian public rate him as a key member of the team and currently he has 47 caps and 1 goal. On January 29, 2008, Šumulikoski signed for Ipswich Town from Turkish club Bursaspor for a fee believed to be in the region of £600,000 which can potentially rise to over £1 million depending on appearances. Sumulikoski received his work permit on the following day but only received international clearance on 2 February2008 after a delay in the signing off paperwork by the Turkish FA. He made his debut later that day coming off the bench in Ipswich's 2–1 away win against Sheffield Wednesday.
