St Finbarr's College, Farranferris

Farranferris was a secondary school, on the north side of Cork, Ireland. It is a former seminary, and attached to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cork and Ross. It closed its doors in June 2006. It was the alma mater of some well-known Corkonians. Those most notable today are Bill O'Herlihy, Joe Walsh, Owen O'Callaghan, John Gardiner, Tom Kenny, Mark Foley, Johnny Crowley, Kevin Murray, Brendan Bowe, Robin Power, Finbar Wright, Robert Stack, Clement Foley, Tim Allen.

Famous Cork historian and author, Tim Horgan is also a former student of the college and later Tim spent most of his working life as a teacher who had a positive influence, both academic and sporting on many of the students he thought. "I wouldn't be where I am today without the guidance of Tim Horgan" Robert Stack 2008.

Farranferris was closed in 2006 and the last students left the school in June 2007.

The school was very successful at hurling, having won the Dr. Harty Cup and Dr. Croke Cup on several occasions.
