Sean McGhee is a London-based record producer, songwriter and engineer.
The first entries in McGhee's discography are remix and
engineer ing work for Schulte Eriksson,Ricky Spontane andBeyond Dawn in 1999. His career began in earnest in 2000 as engineer and programmer for producerAndy Gill . His 18 month association with Gill was spent engineering singles and EPs for various alternative rock bands, notably Hell Is for Heroes andRegurgitator .After concluding his association with Gill in early 2002, he embarked on a close working relationship with producer
Guy Sigsworth . They worked on many successful projects together, spanning artists such asSugababes ,Bebel Gilberto ,JC Chasez ,Frou Frou (Imogen Heap ),Mozez ,Juliet ,Enrique Iglesias ,Robyn ,Mirah ,Richard Walters ,Temposhark ,Kate Havnevik andBritney Spears ; his work on her song "Everytime " gave him his first UK Number One single.During this time his role evolved from programmer, engineer and mixer to co-writer on a number of songs with Sigsworth, including collaborations with
Siobhán Donaghy ,Amy Studt , and, again,Kate Havnevik . A number of songs co-written with Havnevik, notably "Grace", "Travel In Time" (on which he collaborated withCarmen Rizzo ) and "So:Lo" have been used a number of times in US television productions, most notably on "Grey's Anatomy ", "The O.C. ", "Commander-In-Chief " and "Windfall".McGhee and Sigsworth parted company in May 2006 as McGhee departed to pursue his production and writing career full-time. McGhee had previously engineeredGuy Sigsworth 's remix of "It's Better To Have Loved" for the band in 2005. The album "The Invisible Line " was completed in February 2007. McGhee has also contributed as a writer on the album, which was released worldwide in April 2008.In April 2007, he reunited with
Guy Sigsworth to contribute as engineer and programmer on the fifth studio album byAlanis Morissette , "Flavors of Entanglement ". He also contributed backing vocals to two songs, "In Praise Of The Vulnerable Man" and "Incomplete".McGhee closed 2007 by co-producing 3 tracks for ex-Ella Guru member Kait DeVoy, and commenced writing the sophomore Temposhark album with lead singer
Rob Diament .In 2008, McGhee is producing tracks and playing with new London band
The Gadsdens , producing an album for The Blackmoth, AKA ex-Acacia vocalistAlexander Nilere , and has recently participated in recording sessions for Kate Havnevik's forthcoming second album, on which he has co-written several songs. He continues to write with Temposhark and will be producing their next album later in 2008. He is working on tracks with ex-Geneva vocalistAndrew Montgomery for a forthcoming album project.
