- Harold Iddings
Harold J. Iddings (?–1952) was an
American football player and coach in bothbasketball and football. A 1909 graduate from theUniversity of Chicago , he served as head football coach for several colleges includingMiami University ,Otterbein College andSimpson College . He also served as head basketball coach at several colleges including theUniversity of Kentucky ,Simpson College andCarnegie Tech .College career
He was an all-Big Ten player at the University of Chicago in 1907 and 1908 under legendary coach
Amos Alonzo Stagg . In both years he helped the Maroon to the Big Ten title. In the 1907 and 1908 seasons the Maroon won all nine Big Ten contests and finished with an overall record of 4-1 and 5-0-1, respectively. He was also the co-Big Ten champion in thepole vault in 1907. Both Iddings andBarton Haggard ofDrake University reached 11’-4”.College football coaching career
