Bogawantalawa

Bogawantalawa is a small town in the Central province of Sri Lanka. It is situated at 1514 m elevation above Sea level. Situated about 150 km east of Colombo. Famous for its Tea estates. Many major companies operate around the town. Connected to Hatton and Balangoda by minor roads. Constitute of a multi etnic community with Tamils with Indian origin as the majority.

Majority of tea estates of the area is managed by a company called Bogawantalawa Tea States Ltd. Bogawantalawa Tea Estates is the largest Sri Lankan supplier of Iced Tea to USA.
