Minakshi Datta

Minakshi Datta is a Bengali writer who has published several books of memoirs, translations and self-help books. She is the daughter of famed Bengali writers Buddhadeva and Protiva Bose and is married to the well known poet, Jyotirmoy Datta. Her daughter, Kankaboti Datta is also a well known Bengali writer. Minakshi Datta now makes her home at Hillsborough Township, New Jersey, United States, although she has spent most of her life in Calcutta, West Bengal, India. She has worked for many years as a teacher, most recently at Seward Park High School in Manhattan where she was a counselor for immigrant children. Some of her most popular books are 'Dr. Zhivago' (translation), 'Kalki', 'Bideshini', 'Pade pade ranna', 'Album theke koyekjon' and 'Griho Bondhu'. She has just finished writing a novel 'Tarun Shahar Deluxe Charter' and a short story for children for the annual Puja literary season. [cite web
