Characters
*Dana - The main character. He is more serious than other 12-year-olds. He likes
science and studying bugs, plants, and animals. He wants to have his very ownlab when he's older. Dana is tormented by his little sister Brandy, as she always gets her way, often at Dana's expense. At the end of the book, he lays an egg.*Brandy - She is Dana's little sister. She's good at getting everything she wants by flashing her smile and putting on a
baby face . When she does those things, there is no way her mom and dad can say no to her. She also has a bad habit of being aspoiled brat . Her brother Dana is sick of it because he never gets his way.*Egg monsters from Mars - These eggs aren't normal eggs. They are about the size of a
softball . They are covered with ugly blue and purpleveins . The Egg Monsters themselves are described as being similar to a pile of scrambled eggs with black eyes. These creatures are not malicious, as they protect Dana from Dr. Gray, and even keep Dana warm while he is freezing. They can apparently reproduce with other life forms, although the exact process is not known. It has been suggested that theyimpregnated Dana when they crawled atop him to keep him warm.References
