Uwe Karl Beckmeyer (born
March 26 ,1949 inBremerhaven ) is a Germanpolitician and member of the SPD.He is a member October 2004 speakers of the working group traffic, building and town development of the SPD Bundestag faction. From 1987 to 1991 he was a restaurant economist and from 1991 to 1999 senator for foreign trade of the free Hanseatic city Bremen. Since 2006 he has served as regional chairman of the SPD in Bremen.
Occupation
After the Abitur 1968 at the restaurant economics Beckmeyer completed a study for the teaching profession at reason and hauptschule, which he terminated with first and after doing the Referendariats with the second state examination. Until 1975 it was active as teachers in Bremerhaven.
Uwe Beckmeyer is married and has a son.
Party
Beckmeyer is since 1969 member of the SPD and was from 1972 to 1987 of chairmen of the SPD subdistrict Bremerhaven. To 25. March 2006 he was selected to the regional chairmanship of the SPD in Bremen.
Delegates
From 1975 to 1987 as well as from 1999 to 2002 Beckmeyer belonged to the Bremi citizenry. Here it was from 1979 to 1987 of deputy chairmen of the SPD faction.
Since 2002 it is member of the German federal daily. Here it is for October 2004 speakers of the working group traffic, building and housing and/or since November 2005 traffic, building and town development of the SPD Bundestag faction. Since December 2005 it belongs in addition to the parliamentary group executive committee.
Uwe Beckmeyer drew Bremerhaven always as directly selected delegates of the constituency Bremen II - into the Bundestag. With the election to the Bundestag 2005 it reached 54.4% the Erststimmen here.
Public Offices
On 15 October 1987 Beckmeyer was appointed as a senator for economics, technology and foreign trade into the senate of the free Hanseatic city Bremen led of president of the senate Klaus Wedemeier. After the citizenry choice 1991 at the same time it became on 11 December 1991 senator for ports, navigation and foreign trade and as a senator for Federal matters of authorized persons with the federation. With the assumption of office of Henning Scherf as new mayors and president of the senate Beckmeyer on 4 July 1995 the senator for ports, supraregional traffic and foreign trade as well as the senator for work one appointed. After the citizenry choice 1999 it separated on 7 July 1999 from the office.
