Miss World Canada

The latest incarnation of the Miss World Canada contest was created in 2003, with the first Miss World Canada winner being Nazanin Afshin-Jam [ [http://www.missworldcanada.com Miss World Canada] ] . Nazanin placed 1st Runner-up at the Miss World finals in Sanya, China in 2003. This was the third time that Canada has placed second at the Miss World competition. Canada has yet to bring home the crown.

Miss Dominion of Canada

Winners of the Miss Dominion of Canada pageant represented Canada in the Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, and Queen of the Pacific pageants from 1960 until 1980. The Miss Dominion of Canada pageant was held in Niagara Falls each year on Canada's Dominion Day (July 1), hence the name of the pageant.

Miss Canada International has existed since 1995.

Miss Canada International Trivia

*1996: Danielle House was dethroned after being found guilty of assault. Danielle was not replaced as her dethroning was so close to the end of her reign. Following her dethroning Danielle appeared nude in PlayBoy Magazine.
*2003: Lynsey Bennett was dethroned and replaced with 1st Runner-up, Lorenza Sammarelli from Vancouver, British Columbia. Bennett was dethroned on the grounds that she did not uphold her duties as a Miss Canada International representative; Bennett disputed these claims in media reports across Canada.

Miss International Canada

There is not a lot of information know about the election of Canadian representatives for past Miss International competitions, though recently more documentation has been noted. Winners or runners-up competed from 1960-1979; in 2002-2006, the Miss International Canada Contest took place to choose Canada's representative for this event. As of 2007, the Miss Universe Canada organization sends the Canadian contestant to Miss International.

Canada has never won Miss World, though it has placed 1st runner-up three times. Canada has also never won Miss International.
