- Linux Kongress
The Linux Kongress is an annual two-day conference of
Linux developers from around the world. It has taken place since1994 , when Linux was in the early stages of development, and has almost always occurred inGermany .The Kongress is a meeting place for many different types of developers. Kernel developers like
Linus Torvalds andAlan Cox ,user space developers likeKalle Dalheimer andMiguel de Icaza , andOpen Source advocates likeEric Raymond have all participated.The focus of the Kongress is new
core technologies , either in kernel or user space. Theofficial language of the Kongress is English.Recently, the Kongress has been more cooperative with other agencies than in the past. In
1999 , the Kongress cooperated with theStorage Management Workshop . In2000 and2001 there were several multi-day workshops sponsored by theGerman Ministry of Science and Education that preceded the conference. In2004 , aNetfilter workshop sponsored byAstaro took place before the conference.External links
