The season 1989-90 of the European Cup Winners' Cup was won for the only time by U.C. Sampdoria in the final against RSC Anderlecht, 3-0, at Nya Ullevi in Göteborg on May 9 1990. They went on to win Serie A the next season, and were runners up in the European Cup 1991-92.
