Upen Patel (born August 16 1980) is an Indian model and Bollywood film actor.

Early life

Upen Patel (born August, 16, 1980 in London, England) is a model and actor in Bollywood. Upen Patel was born and brought up in London, England. Patel was studying at University of Hertfordshire for his Computer Science degree, and became a part-time model.He has modelled for brands such as Hugo Boss, Paul Smith and Zegna. Career

Early Work – until 2006

After winning Zee TV's supermodel hunt in the year 2002, Upen began signing modelling assignments such as Hugo Boss, Paul Smith and Zegna.

He received the MTV Style Award, which led to many more endorsements including Tuscan Verve, Tommy Hilfiger, Provogue, D'damas Desire. He has campaigned for international brands like Wendell Rodrick, Vikram Phadnis and Westside.

Patel also assisted in the animation department of Main Prem ki Diwani Hoon

Film Debut 2006- Present

He appeared in the remix music video of the classic Bollywood song Kya Khoob Lagti Ho which also featured Udita Goswami.

In 2006 he made his Bollywood debut in the murder mystery film 36 China Town, where he played a casanova type character who is suspected of murder. The film was a moderate success at the box office. Upen won several debutante awards, including the IIFA Award for the role.

His second film, Namastey London, where he played a supporting role was released on 23 March 2007 and also did well at the box office.

Shortly afterwards, his third film Shakalaka Boom Boom was released on 6 April 2007, but did not do as well at the box office as expected and was declared a flop. He did however garner appreciation for his performance.He received flak for his guest appearance in Ashwani Dheer’s One Two Three(2008).As of July 2008, he is shooting for Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.

Personal life

Upen Patel is currently single. He was linked to Bollywood actress Tabu and Deepika Padukone.
