Joe Morgenstern is the film critic for

In 1965 he became a movie critic forNewsweek , then a columnist for theLos Angeles Herald Examiner from 1983 to 1988. Morgenstern's television scripts include "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble " and some episodes of "Law & Order". He co-founded theNational Society of Film Critics .He received a
Pulitzer Prize in 2005, making him only the third film critic ever to win a Pulitzer for criticism, afterRoger Ebert of theChicago Sun-Times andStephen Hunter ofThe Washington Post .Morgenstern is the former husband of actress
