Varde made his NASCAR debut in the
Busch Series , driving a second Amick Motorsports Chevy in 2001 atWatkins Glen International . Varde qualified 18th, but rear end trouble ceased his run at 34th.In 2002,
BACE Motorsports offered him a ride in their #74 Chevy at the Glen in the Winston Cup Series. He started the race in dead last (43rd) and didn't improve much. He finished 42nd after his clutch gave out. BACE offered Varde another car in 2003, however, he did not qualify for the event.In 2003, Varde made his lone
