Ausa is a city and a municipal council in Latur district in the state of Maharashtra, India.

Geography

Ausa is located at coord|18.25|N|76.5|E| [ [http://www.fallingrain.com/world/IN/16/Ausa.html Falling Rain Genomics, Inc - Ausa] ] . It has an average elevation of 634 metres (2080 feet).Among the major circles villages are Bhada, Lamjana, Killari and Matola. Geographically area of Bhada is bigger in the Ausa Taluka.

History

When Ausa was a Taluka, the recent Latur district place was a just part of this big Ausa Taluka. Ausa is as it is but later developed as big city and a district place having more than 5 lac populations.

Ausa was the birthplace of Prem Rawat, also called Guru Maharaj Ji.

Agriculture

Around Killari area, the grape production is at high amount, which is used for export. While Bhada village is famous for producing carrot in whole district. The major river in Ausa is Tavaraja and Terana. It is big Market for Animals like cow, buffalos, goats in whole latur district and Osmanabad district. It also has an Historic Monument, Fort.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census [GR|India] , Ausa had a population of 30,876. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Ausa has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 57% of the males and 43% of females literate. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.Agriculture Development can be seen, even having adverse natural climate and droughts.
