The Alternate Routes are a rock band out of Bridgeport, Connecticut formed by Tim Warren and Eric Donnelly in 2002 while studying at Fairfield University. The band recorded their debut album entitled "Good and Reckless and True" in Nashville in 2005.

The next two years were spent touring, and honing their live sound.

In 2007, the band re-released "Good and Reckless and True" on Vanguard Records. The signing happened to take place on Thanksgiving morning of 2006, 30 years to the day after The Last Waltz was filmed, a documentary about The Band that the Routes often cite as being very influential to them.

On April 10, 2007, the Alternate Routes performed "Time is a Runaway" on Late Night With Conan O'Brien. On December 21, 2007, the band released a limited edition acoustic CD only available at shows called The Brooklawn Sessions.

In 2008, the band recorded their follow up LP, Sucker's Dream, again with producer Jay Joyce in Nashville. While waiting for its release in February of '09, the band recorded five songs at Tarquin Studios in their hometown of Bridgeport, Connecticut, just a block away from Tim & Chip's place, a house referred to as "Brooklawn." This collection was released as "The Watershed EP."

Drummer David Grant will be joining the band for a fall tour covering the Northeast, Midwest, Deep South and Rocky Mountains. A video was filmed for the song "Future's Nothing New," the first single off of Sucker's Dream.
