The Polideportivo Cachamay or Centro Total de Entretenimiento Cachamay is a stadium of professional soccer located in the city of
Puerto Ordaz ,Venezuela , in which it is 1 of the 9 venues of theCopa America 2007 . For this,US$ 160,000 were invested for the expansion of the stadium for 41,300 persons. The stadium has multiple uses like a special kids area, an indoor gym, basketball and volleyball courts, a racing track, ten media station booths and three enormous parking lots. The stadium is surrounded by the river Caroní and the waterfall of the Cachamay park.The Name
The real name of the stadium years before its actual form, was "Gino Scarigella", named by the referee who passed away in a game in the same stadium. After the first referesment, the local press named the stadium Cachamay, making the population forget its original name. After its most recent referesment (2006 - 2007), the named was changed finally to Centro Total de Entretenimiento Cachamay ("Cachamay Total Entertainment Center")
