Market positioning
The content and presentation is "upscale", with higher prices, higher quality, more exotic selections, and bright, spacious presentation, fewer total items, and smaller square footage than the major popular priced markets of Safeway and Lucky.
Financial Decisions
Andronico's has been suffering much competition from other grocers, particularly in the
Contra Costa County area. Within three months both of their east of Berkeley locations were shuttered. Following the Danville store closure, CEO Bill Andronico declared Andronico's store closures would be done, yet three months during the closure of the Walnut Creek Store, similar assurances were again made.Fact|date=February 2007 The stores were closed to reduce company debt, projects on remodeling the remaining eight stores are proposed.Fact|date=February 2007External links
