Grigorij Mesežnikov

Grigorij Mesežnikov (born 1958, Oryol in the USSR) is a Slovak political analyst.

He was born in the USSR. In 1979 he moved to Slovakia with his wife, who was pregnant with their daughter. At first, he worked in the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, then with his good friend Martin Bútora (presidential candidate in the 2004 election) they founded the IVO (Institute for Public Affairs, Slovak: "Inštitút pre verejné otázky"). Since 1998 he is the president of the institute. IVO's aim is spreading principles of democracy in Slovakia.

Grigorij Mesežnikov is a frequent contributor in many politics-related newspapers in Slovakia.
