Party of the Democratic Left (Slovakia)

The Party of the Democratic Left ( _sk. Strana demokratickej ľavice) was a political party in Slovakia from 1990 to 2004. It was social democratic in orientation.

It was founded in 1990, out of the Communist Party of Slovakia. Since the 2002 elections, it has had no place in the Slovak legislature. It was a member of the Party of European Socialists and the Socialist International.

On December 4, 2004 it voted to merge with the Direction – Social Democracy as from January 1, 2005.
