The song was recorded by
The Beatles on18 February 1965 .Ringo Starr is the lead singer on this recording, which was originally planned to be his vocal appearance on the "Help!" album and the "Help!" film. "Act Naturally " was chosen instead. [ [http://www.beatlesbible.com/songs/if-youve-got-trouble/ The Beatles Bible: If You've Got Trouble] Retrieved 1 September 2008.] It was to be his fifth released vocal for the Beatles, with the songs "Boys", "I Wanna Be Your Man ", "Matchbox", and "Honey Don't " coming previously. The song remained unreleased until March 1996 when it was included on the album "Anthology 2 ".Recording
Work on "If You've Got Trouble" was started on the fourth day of recording for "Help!". It was one of three songs worked on that day, the others being "
You've Got to Hide Your Love Away " and "Tell Me What You See ". The main part of the song was done in a single take, followed by overdubs for lead and backing vocals. However, the Beatles disliked the product and so decided to ditch both the takes and, ultimately, the song. [The Beatles Anthology "Anthology 2 "]References
