Mounya and Yiolanda

Mounya and Yiolanda

Mounya Khamlichi and Yiolanda Tokkallos now (Koppel) were two sales assistants who landed presenting jobs at the British version of children's TV channel Nickelodeon in the 1990s.

Due to their foreign names (Mounya is of Arabic decent and Yiolanda is of Greek decent), many young viewers were unable to pronounce them. Due to this, they were referred to as Moo and Yoo (later Yolly). Despite their differing ethnic origins, they were frequently asked on air as to whether they were twins.

After a considerable period of time working together, and despite having a good rapport, the people behind Nickelodeon split the duo up to work alongside other presenters.

Mounya has since left Nickelodeon and moved to Sydney Australia where she has been living for the past 4 years. Yiolanda now works at ITV and presents interactive phone in quiz shows such as 'The Mint'.
