- Federal Consulting Group
The Federal Consulting Group is a fee-for-service franchise operation within the
United States Department of the Treasury . The Group is made up of career federal executives who have extensive experience in managing major programs and working with senior agency leaders in areas such as process improvement, strategic planning, creative approaches to problem solving, executive coaching, leadership development, and customer and employee satisfaction.The franchises were created by the
Government Management Reform Act of 1994 . The purpose of the franchise legislation was to promote the growth of theentrepreneur ial spirit within government. The Federal Consulting Group receives no funding, as it is a fee-for-service agecy; all expenses are paid for through income generated by both providing consulting and coaching to other agencies of government and as the executive agent for theAmerican Customer Satisfaction Index .The Federal Consulting Group has been active since 1987 under different names; it was once the consulting arm of the
Federal Quality Institute (FQI) within theOffice of Personnel Management . In 1996, the executives who had been at FQI gained Treasury Department approval to become part of its franchise.The Group's current
executive director is Anne Kelly, who previously held senior positions within the Departments of Commerce and Energy.External links
