John F. Kennedy High School (Bronx)

John F. Kennedy High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school, located at 99 Terrace View Avenue in the New York City borough of the Bronx. The school serves grades 9-12. The school is operated by the New York City Department of Education. The campus contains four other schools, BETA, [http://schools.nyc.gov/schoolportals/10/X546 Bronx Theatre] , [http://schools.nyc.gov/schoolportals/10/X284 Bronx Law and Finance] and [http://schools.nyc.gov/schoolportals/10/X477 Marble Hill School for International Studies] . The school is known in New York for its football and basketball teams.

John F. Kennedy open it's doors in the early 70's and in the 80'S and 90's JFK was know as one of the most dangerous schools in New York city, still it did not effect it's popularity as the school hit six thousand in the mid 90's. In New York the school is very well know for it sports, know as the knights of the red flaming torch, they have won numbers championships in Basketball, football, volleyball, gymnastics and track and field. The school was divided into four smaller schools in 2004 a few years later after student Delano Ashman was stabbed by Joseph Martinez.
